Sake Silk

Sake Silk Study

Clinical Study on Barrier Repair¹

One of the skin barrier's jobs is to hold water in, and it doesn’t always function properly when it's stressed by things like harsh cleansers, over-exfoliation, or dry air. Moisture escapes faster, and skin starts to feel tight, dry, and uncomfortable. In an independent clinical study of 22 people, half with sensitive skin, Sake Silk was tested on skin whose barrier had been intentionally stressed in a controlled lab setting.

In a 3rd party independent clinical study, Sake Silk was shown to support the barrier by demonstrating a remarkable 36% reduction in transepidermal water loss after just 24 hours, and a continued reduction in TEWL by up to 37% after two weeks. Participants noticed the difference too: 100% said it felt refreshing to apply, and 91% said it provided long-term hydration, left skin smoother and plumper, and made their skin more comfortable. The result is skin that holds onto moisture and stays hydrated, soft, and comfortable all day.
