SKIN ISN'T DEEP ENOUGH

Sustainability

Our mess. Our responsibility.

What’s in the bottle is only half of it. The other half is what happens next: your empties, our packaging, and what we put back into the world.

Because what happens after the last pump matters, too.

RECOVER

Your empties have more life in them.

The beauty industry makes an estimated 120 billion packages a year, and most never had a chance. Caps, pumps, droppers, and minis are too small for sorting facilities to catch. Tubes and compacts are made of mixed materials that have to be taken apart by hand. So they end up in landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. Not because you didn't try. The system just wasn't built for what beauty comes in.

So we partnered with Pact Collective, a nonprofit that runs collection programs built to recover what the system misses. Its partners hand-sort the small, hard-to-capture empties that curbside bins can't handle, like tubes, caps, pumps, and compacts, and find the highest and best use for each, turning them into packaging and everyday goods whenever possible. You'll know where your empties are going, and that they're getting a real shot at a second life. And recovery works for any beauty brand, not just ours.

Recover - Coming Soon!

Here's how it will work.

  • STEP 1

    Finish it. Then rinse it.

Use every last drop, then rinse your empties thoroughly. Bottles, tubes, caps, pumps. The cleaner, the better.

  • STEP 2

    Collect 5 to 10 empties.

Keep a bag under the sink and fill it up. Packaging from any beauty brand counts.

  • STEP 3

    Choose how to send them.

Drop them at a PACT bin near you or request a prepaid shipping label. PACT takes it from there

REPURPOSE

We’ll take it from here.

Some plastics are harder to recover than others. Wrappers, sachets, and flexible packaging often get left behind by traditional recycling.

That’s why we partnered with rePurpose Global to help fund their collection, processing, and responsible disposal.

PROJECT ANANT PRANAY

The project you're supporting.

Project Anant Pranay, meaning "endless love," women-led plastic recovery project in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. The project supports female waste pickers in getting formal jobs in the waste sector, giving them access to fair wages and stable work in an industry that rarely offers either. Since it started, soft plastic collection in Aurangabad is up 1,000%, and waste management services now reach over 100,000 households, close to 500,000 people, across the city.

RETHINK

Great skin and a smarter future. We're not choosing.

SUSTAINABILITY

Honest about where we are. Clear about where we're going.

Sustainability in beauty is a journey, not a finish line, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. We're working to improve our sourcing, reduce our footprint, and make better packaging decisions over time. We won't claim to have solved what the industry hasn't. This page updates as our commitments do.

Serums use an airless pump that collapses inward as it dispenses, leaving minimal product behind. Sake Silk uses a sealed piston that pushes the formula forward, so nothing pools or gets wasted at the bottom.

EDUCATION

We teach. We support. We keep going.

We're committed to educating our community about the ingredients in their products, the science behind their routines, and how to cut through the noise of an industry that profits from confusion. But education doesn't stop at checkout.

Education is the foundation of the future we're trying to build, and it also means looking outward. We're working on seeking out programs that fit our vision, whether that's donating to schools, contributing to college scholarship funds, or backing classroom initiatives that give kids access to resources they wouldn't otherwise have.

We're still a small brand, and we don't have the budget bigger companies do. But we'd rather make a real difference somewhere than sit on the sidelines waiting until we can do everything at once.

Science you trust. Planet we're protecting. A future we're still building.
